Dr. Shawn Allen is a board-certified dermatologist and is one of a handful of dermatologists who are fellowship-trained in Mohs surgery and cosmetic dermatology in the state of Colorado. Dr Allen completed his dermatology residency training at Washington University in St. Louis, and then completed an additional certified fellowship in Mohs micrographic surgery, dermatologic surgery, cosmetic surgery and cosmetic dermatology. He is the Director and Founder of Dermatology Specialists of Boulder PC, and is an Assistant Clinical Professor in the Department of Dermatology at the University of Colorado. He has been elected as a Fellow in the American College of Mohs Surgery. In addition to his full-time private practice in Boulder, he is a sought after speaker at national and international meetings and volunteers his time to train dermatology residents at the University of Colorado in the latest cosmetic procedures. Dr. Allen also donates his time to perform over 200 free skin cancer screenings annually.

Dr. Allen has been recognized by the White House and the President's Council on Service and Civic Participation for his outstanding commitment to volunteer service in the community.  He is proud to have been honored with the President's Volunteer Service Award for his dedication to service in the field of dermatology.

I am very fortunate to have joined Dr. Allen and the DSB team as the Practice Manager in June of 2011.  With a background in the areas of team building, patient care and business administration, I am so grateful to have found a home here at DSB where I can apply all of these wonderful experiences in one setting.  It is a privilege to be here at DSB where we share the belief that our greatest success comes from meting the needs and exceeding the expectations of the people we serve.

I have been a Medical Assistant at DSB since May 2009 and prior to that, I worked in plastic surgery and dermatology offices in Minnesota, Washington DC and my home state of Pennsylvania.  DSB is a wonderful place to be in many ways, but my favorite aspect of working here is that our patient-centered philosophy gives me confidence that every person who walks through the door receives the same extremely high level of care.

I am a Medical Assistant and Patient Coordinator at DSB.  I have worked in dermatology for more than five years, and I am very excited to be a part of the DSB team!  Like Dr. Allen and the staff, I am passionate about patient care!

I am the Lead Medical Aesthetician at DSB. Being a part of the DSB team is one of the best things I have had in my life, and I am so proud to be a member of this amazing group! I have worked in medical aesthetics for the past five years, here in Boulder and in my home state of Texas. I am passionate about educating patients on proper skin care and sun protection, and guiding them through the cosmetic treatments we offer at DSB.

I am a Mohs Histotechnician and Patient Coordinator here at DSB.  I graduated in 2007 as a Histotechnician.  After graduation I received specialized training in the area of Mohs surgery.  I relocated to Colorado from Michigan in June of 2011 to join the staff at DSB and what a wonderful practice I have had the pleasure of joining.
