Dr. Shawn Allen is a board-certified dermatologist and is one of a handful of dermatologistsﾠfellowship-trained in Mohs surgery and cosmetic dermatology in the state of Colorado. Dr Allen completed his dermatology residency training at Washington University in St. Louis, and then completed an additional certified fellowship in Mohs micrographic surgery, dermatologic surgery, cosmetic surgery and cosmetic dermatology. He is the Director and Founder of Dermatology Specialists of Boulder PC, and is an Assistant Clinical Professor in the Department of Dermatology at the University of Colorado. He has been elected as a Fellow in the American College of Mohs Surgery. In addition to his full-time private practice in Boulder, he is a sought after speaker at national and international meetings and volunteers his time to train dermatology residents at the University of Colorado in the latest cosmetic procedures. Dr. Allen also donates his time to perform over 200 free skin cancer screenings annually.

I am the office manager at DSB, and I am so honored to be part of this wonderful team!ﾠ I moved to Boulder in 2008 from the Chicago area, where I managed a facial plastic surgery practice for seven years.ﾠ I am thoroughly impressed with Dr. Allen's medical knowledge and talent, his attention to detail and genuine compassion.ﾠ I am excited to be a member of this practice that is so passionate about providing our patients with the highest cure rate for skin cancer as well as optimal cosmetic results.

Leah

I have been a medical assistant at DSB since May 2009 and prior to that, I worked in medical offices in Minnesota, Washington DC and my home state of Pennsylvania.  DSB is a wonderful place to be in many ways, but my favorite aspect of working here is that our patient-centered philosophy gives me confidence that every person who walks through the door receives the same extremely high level of care.  When not in the office, you might find me rock climbing in Boulder Canyon or studying for the GRE's in a cafe on Pearl Street.

I am the Medical Aesthetician at DSB.ﾠ Being a part of the DSB team is one of the best things I have had in my life,ﾠand I am so proud to be a member of this amazing group!ﾠ I have worked in medical aesthetics for the past five years, here in Boulder and in my home state of Texas.ﾠ I am passionate about educating patients on proper skin care and sun protection, and guiding them through the cosmetic treatments we offer at DSB.ﾠ In my free time, I enjoy being outdoors, cooking and playing with my Weimaraner dog.

I am the Medical Receptionist here at DSB.ﾠ I have lived in Boulder since 2002 and have worked with several outstanding physicians and dermatologists in the area.ﾠ Dr. Allen and his team provide both excellent care and amazing results for a variety of skin issues, including Mohs surgery for skin cancer, and many treatments for cosmetic concerns.ﾠ I am honored to be part of Dr. Allen's staff and to serve his patients.

I have been the Mohs histotech at DSB since coming to Boulder in 2008.  My job entails creating the slides for the Mohs Surgeries and biopsies.  I am proud to work for a doctor as skilled and knowledgeable as Dr. Allen.  In my free time, I enjoy all of the activities found in Boulder and the surrounding mountains.
